The Nevada Caucus is next up in the nominating process for the Democratic candidate for President of the United States.

So far, we’ve had one caucus in Iowa, which belly-flopped, and an election in New Hampshire. These two votes have shown that Dems are wary of Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders has a committed following, Pete Buttigieg is running stronger than anybody expected, and — Surprise ! — Amy Klobuchar is moving up. These votes didn’t tell us much of anything about Mike Bloomberg because he wasn’t on the ballot.

It’s a horse race folks and it’s fun. I enjoy watching Democracy in all its messy action. This is a big part of what America is about. This is who we are.

We’ve got an elderly Jewish guy with fly-away hair, a religious gay guy of the liberal flavor of religion, a moderate woman from the snow belt and another liberal woman from the same state that threw JFK. Somewhere back in the crowd we have a former Vice President of the United States who’s survived more horrific tragedy in his life than any one person should have to endure and keeps on ticking, and off on the side rail, but moving up, we see an erstwhile billionaire who says that he’s willing to spend his entire fortune to stop the save democracy.

For sheer grit, these people put the Boston Marathon all in the dirt. When it comes to happy, healthy democracy-in-action entertainment, they are — all of them — the best.
