draft For the first time in history, Americans are being asked to vote for a nominee of one of the major political parties whose political party has no platform. The Republican Party of 2020 has decided to forego a platform that is based on principles that were hammered out in a democratic fashion by its active members. The Republican Party chose not to have a platform this year. What it did instead was authorize a list of issues that it said it would back.
It’s worth noting that abortion was not on this list of issues. Pro life, which is a much broader umbrella phrase that incorporates the sanctity of life of all human beings from conception to natural death, was missing as well.
