Rs Support Tearing Down White House and Lie to Excuse It.

Trump didn’t want to move into the White House. He called it “a real dump.”

We the People have been paying for his disrespect of our White House ever since he took the oath and was forced to move into what he considers inadequate digs for the king he thinks he is. 

I don’t have current figures, but when he was in office the first time, his golfing jaunts to Mar a Lago cost us $13.6 million for each trip to Florida. That figure is almost 10 years old, and things cost a lot more now. Plus, Trump forces the Secret Service and all the other members of his traveling retinue to stay at Mar a Lago and he jacks up the charges to get more money out them.

Trump forces the government to pay top dollar plus more to house the Secret Service and the rest of his staff at Mar a Lago. Then, he pockets the money. 

I would imagine that when he travels anywhere that he owns a facility, he does the same thing. This adds up to huge amounts of money. The money going from our pockets to his just for these overcharges on accommodations for the Secret Service and staff probably comes to hundreds of millions of dollars.

The bottom line is he’s costing us a fortune so he can get away from “that dump” and play golf. He’s ripping us off while he does it by pocketing millions more in the profits he gets from charging the people that we pay to protect and serve him for spending the night in his mausoleum by the sea.

Air Force One wasn’t good enough for him, so he got the government of Qatar to “give” him a new jet that was more to his liking. Then, he got his Republican stooges in Congress to allow him to keep the jet as his own personal property (if) he ever gives up the stranglehold he has taken on our country and returns to private life.

The White House — OUR WHITE HOUSE — is evidently still a “dump” in his eyes. 

He decided to fix that by building himself a little vanity project. He wanted a “ballroom” that would seat 1,000 people. You know, just like the ones emperors and kings have. 

So, he tore down the East Wing of the White House — it is, after all, a “dump” — and is building himself his trophy.

He had already destroyed the Rose Garden, paving it over with concrete. And he’s put gaudy gold colored decorations all over everywhere in the White House. They’re nailed to the walls, hanging above the fire places, dripping down the doors. 

It’s ugly. And it’s embarrasing. The man has the taste of circus clown. (Which probably explains his hair and make-up.)

Republicans are, of course, supporting Trump tearing down our White House. Just like they supported Trump Enterprises getting a free Golf Resort in Qatar. Just like they supported letting Trump keep the free Qatari jet.  Just like they supported Trump letting Qatar have a Qatari Air Force Base right smack in the middle of Idaho in what appears to be payback for the jet and the golf resort.

Their big defense is to (as usual) lie and claim that President Obama “destroyed” the White House by building himself a basketball court. This is a lie, and they know it is a lie.  

President Obama had lines painted on an existing tennis court so he could use it as a basketball court. Republicans circulated an antique photo of the 1934 construction of the East Wing (which was approved by Congress and backed by the American people, btw) and claimed that this is a photo of how President Obama “destroyed” the White House.

They. Are. Liars.

These Rs are not doing the job we elected them to do. They are not representing us in our government.

If they had one smidge of respect for us, they wouldn’t be constantly lying to us like we’re a bunch of fools who will swallow anything. They are Trump’s stooges. We the People, this country, our history, none of it means anything to them.

In October 2025, as the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump defended the partial demolition of the White House’s East Wing to make way for Trump’s planned ballroom, a photograph circulated alongside a claim (archived) that it was proof former U.S. President Barack Obama “wrecked” the White House to add a basketball court.

The claim circulated alongside a black-and-white photograph that appeared to show extensive demolition or construction at the White House.

Obama, who has long been a keen basketball player, did adapt an outdoor tennis court at the White House to also serve as a basketball court during his administration, adding hoops and lines. This conversion did not require extensive construction.

The origin of the photo that circulated alongside the claim was unclear at the time of this writing. Based on similar photographs from the Library of Congress, it appeared to show construction at the White House’s West Wing in 1934, during the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt. The image circulated online as far back as 2010, when one poster (archived) claimed it showed West Wing renovations in 1934.
