This has got to be quick.

I’ve got two pies to make and a turkey to put in the oven. Then, I’ve got to finish getting all the stuff piled up in the dining room back to the places where it really belongs.

I have a big — I think it’s seven feet, but don’t remember for sure — dining table that I often use for laying out fabric and cutting it for my sewing. I also use it to alter patterns. Right now, I’m altering a shirt pattern. So, I have to gather up all the rulers, tracing paper and other stuff and stash it away.

After that, the grands (and their parents) will start arriving. I’m not doing the heavy cooking. My wonderful daughter-in-law, who is a blessing to our family, has taken all that over.

But before I do all these things, I want to take a pause and share with you a few of the things I am most grateful for today.

  1. First, I’m grateful for my family; my husband, sons, beautiful daughter-in-laws who love my sons and are doing a wonderful job of raising my precious grands.

Nothing adds more light to my life than the grands. I adore them.

2.   I’m also grateful that I had two parents who loved me, thought I could do anything I wanted to do and backed me 100% no matter what crazy thing I tried to do.

3.   I’m grateful for my sister who was my most trusted friend, and my niece, and her children.

4.    I’m grateful for my life and that God has seen fit to keep me here despite cancer, a heart attack, and a stroke. This recent discovery of a large and potentially lethal blockage is another thing I’m grateful for. I’m grateful for a cardiologist who refused to stop following the bread crumbs until he found it and for the opportunity to get it fixed. It could have blown at any time. I’m grateful that it didn’t.

I am looking forward to cardiac rehab and getting stronger and feeling a lot better when my heart is getting enough blood again.

5.   I’m grateful for the election a few weeks ago and for the continued resistance to tyranny. It gives me hope that we may be able to save America from total destruction.

6.   I’m grateful almost beyond words that the bishops finally spoke up in unison with the Pope about these evils. If they had not, it would have disgraced the Church the same way that the fact that the pope and bishops did not speak up together against Hitler disgraced the Church.

7.    I am grateful for the many Protestant clergy and bishops and the rabbis who have beaten them to the punch. They’ve been attacked, including being attacked by sitting members of Congress, for speaking for Christ. They’ve suffered physical assault for their efforts to stand for Christ.

That is the way it always has been, the way it always will be. The whore political priests of that day joined with a corrupt politician to murder God Himself. If Jesus came back this morning, there are many political whore clergy and self-promoting “christians” who would crucify Him all over again.

In fact, that is exactly what they are doing when they back this great evil.

8.   I am grateful that God has allowed me the opportunity to speak against this evil regime. It is a blessing to be able to do it.

9.   I am also grateful for you and to you, my friends. You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. You are my brothers and sisters in Christ.

We are all children of the Living God.

We have this noble status because God Himself left the glory of eternity to become one of us and live in the muck and mire of our finite existence in these bodies.

10.   I am always and every day grateful to my Lord and my God, Jesus Christ for offering Himself as a living sacrifice to atone for my sins. Without Him and His love, I would be doomed to hell.

But due to His sacrifice, I am a daughter of the Living God, and I am bound for eternal life with Him.

Be grateful today my dear friends. Enjoy your family and your home. Eat up and then float in the reality that you are alive now for a purpose and that purpose is, first, foremost and always to follow Christ in all things.

Love God and love other people. Jesus’ most pressing command on the night He was taken was Love one another.
