Have a Blessed Sabbath my Friends, and Remember to Pray.

As we head into this cold January Sabbath, please remember to pray for the courageous and patriotic Americans who are literally putting their lives on the line for our freedoms today. 

The Resisters are showing up all across the country. In just the past couple of days, I’ve read of peaceful resistance; huge demonstrations, much of it led by clergy, in Maine, Texas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, North Carolina, Maryland, New York, Virginia, Missouri, Washington and others. 

I’m sure there are more, since I wasn’t looking for them. I just ran across them in my reading. 

Pray and thank God for religious leaders who are willing to put feet to their faith and stand up against this evil. They are doing what Christ explicitly told His followers that they must do. They are standing with and for the least of these. 

At the same time, they are redeeming the Christian witness in America from the idolatry, moral degeneracy and cruelty of MAGA “christianity.” 

These resistors are enduring cold, brutality and danger to fight for our country, our freedom, our faith and our future. They are fighting for my grandchildren to live in a free America. 

They are most certainly fighting for the sanctity and dignity of human life. Resisting this evil is the most important pro life thing you can do at this time in our history. 

If you can’t be a front line soldier in this fight yourself, pray for those who can and who are willing to do it. They deserve our gratitude and they need all our support. 

Pray also for all the people this Trump regime has killed. That is a surprisingly long list for one year. 

I learned this week that a family member by marriage has been cut off Medicaid. He has Glioblastoma. His medical care was ended by the votes of his own senators and representatives in Congress in the name of the Mad King. 

The irony here is that this man was a convinced Trump supporter. 

You can multiply my family member by hundreds of thousands of people who will die as a direct result of the passage of Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” 

Pray for those who are trapped in the MAGA cult. Many of them have been misled by fallen clergy. Many others are persuaded by the hate porn and lies of right wing media. Pray for their conversion to real, Jesus Christianity. 

Pray also for the poor ICE Agents. I will not believe that they are all as evil as they appear as a group. I think a lot of them are poor kids who saw that $30,000 sign-up bonus as a way to get out from under and start their lives. 

Now they are trapped by the contract they signed that requires them to give years of their lives to this murderous organization or they must return the money. For a lot of them, returning the money is a practical impossibility. 

You become what you do. They are marinating in evil every day, all day long. 

They are part of a culture that is transparently destructive, anti-American and homicidal. Their job is to violate laws as they destroy the Constitution in the process of enacting cruelty on helpless people. 

They are trapped in an organization of systematic violence, lies, sadism and lawlessness. 

Their souls are in grave danger.

We have to oppose what they do. But we must also pray for them as our fellow human beings. 

The time may come when Christians are called to shelter run-away ICE agents who want out. 

Last and always, pray for the conversion of the world to Jesus Christ. Pray that from pole to pole and dateline to dateline, every knee will bend to Him and every voice will be raised in praise of His Name. 

Have a blessed Sabbath my friends. Trust in Christ and don’t be afraid. 

Jesus conquered Satan on Calvary 2,000 years ago. All we have to do is pick up this cross that we nailed together ourselves by the mistake we made in November 2024, and carry His victory forward.
