Grease the pan and bowl *very* well, dust liberally with granulated sugar (not flour) and allow to cool completely before carefully turning them out...Don't frost between the layers. Use a very short, sharp knife (paring knife) to carefully carve a hollow. Also pare down the corners to give it a more organic look.I tinted a basic vanilla buttercream frosting a bit brown with some more Dutch-process cocoa...Finally I found a flat stone, washed it carefully with soap and water, and leaned it against the opening.
