Colton’s Last Song

I was impressed with Colton Dixon throughout this season on American Idol. I admit it was a little self-serving at the beginning, because I remembered he had re-tweeted a joke I sent out around Christmas. But I paid closer attention through the rounds and realized he was talented but also took his faith seriously. Then I rooted for him more heavily when news came out that producers warned him to not be so expressive about his faith. 

“When we first started the Twitter and Facebook stuff, they said beware of political and religious tweets, Just because it can turn off voters or whatever. But, you know, being a Christian is who I am. It is a part of me musically. It is what I want to do after the show — go into Christian music.”

Last night, for his closing song, he went back to the worship song he’d performed a few weeks earlier, Lifehouse’s “Everything.” It was such a great moment and I thought you’d want a chance to see if it haven’t already.
