Moments ago, Lucasfilm/Disney dropped the highly-anticipated new trailer for the upcoming film Star Wars: The Last Jedi, releasing to theaters on December 15, during Monday Night Football. The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.
The preview offers scenes with familiar characters such as Luke Skywalker, General Leia, and Chewbacca as well as drama with newer recruits Finn, Kylo Renn and Rey. An encounter toward the end of the trailer between Rey and Kylo Renn seems to tease some sort of partnership. Following ominous warnings from Luke during training, does she turn toward the dark side?
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin are the executive producers.
In the film, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.
Following the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm is prepping a Star Wars ‘anthology’ movie featuring Han Solo scheduled for May 25, 2018.
