Terminally Ill Arizona Father Taken Off Plane Dies April 4, 2016

Appalling. An airline gave a dog preferential treatment over a terminally ill father.

Jorge Alvarado and his family had planned to build lasting, beautiful memories on their trip to Washington. Their short excursion was certainly memorable — but for a deplorable reason. NY Daily News shares the details of his mistreatment:

The family drew sympathy worldwide and a free trip to Disneyland after Giovanni suffered an allergic reaction to dogs on a plane. He was flying home to see relatives in Washington state one last time on Feb. 22, but was removed from the plane before takeoff. Giovanni and his parents said passengers on the back of the Allegiant Air plane clapped when they left the plane to get medical care after a 90-minute flight delay.

Tell me…Why wasn’t the dog made to leave? The cause of the problem was allowed to stay, while the child and his family were humiliated. Not to mention, Allegiant Airlines robbed this family of precious time they will never get back.

Unfortunately, Jorge recently lost his battle with cancer.

Jorge Alvarado succumbed Thursday to his esophageal cancer in a hospice center near his family’s suburban Phoenix home, said his wife Christina Fabian. He’s survived by Fabian and their 12 children, including 7-year-old Giovanni, who was especially torn up by the incident last month. Alvarado was 48…

A GiveForward fundraising page the family started in January had raised over $9,300 by Friday night. Alvarado will be buried in Los Angeles, his wife said…

“From all over the world, we’ve heard messages from Taiwan, Mexico, Dominican Republic and China,” Fabian told ABC. “It was beautiful because one of the things he wanted was to make a difference. … He did that.”

My deepest condolences to the Alvarado family.
