Trey Gowdy reminds Democrats to take Benghazi seriously – for these 4 reasons April 12, 2016

It’s pretty sad that Benghazi Committee Chairman Sen. Trey Gowdy has to constantly remind Democrats that Benghazi is a serious incident.  After all, four Americans lost their lives due to the failures of one of the party’s leaders.

But that’s because the truth is of actual importance to the fiery South Carolina senator. Unlike Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) who constantly condemns the committee for pursuing what he considers a settled matter. According to a post at the Select Committee’s blog, Reid recently called Gowdy’s investigation a “partisan committee masquerading as an independent body” and has gone as far as saying it’s a “flop” because Hillary Clinton was so assertive in her “direct answering of questions.” (Whatever that means.)

Thankfully, though, this only makes Gowdy even more resolved to expose the Democrats’ blasé attitude. The chairman recently posted this message to Twitter:

Throughout his time as chairman, Gowdy has stated, “The integrity of this investigation is my utmost concern.” Contrast that with Mrs. Clinton’s infamous gripe, “What difference, at this point, does it make?” That doesn’t sound like someone taking this seriously at all, now does it?

A lot of people join Clinton in grumbling about the Benghazi investigation, but that hasn’t deterred how important it remains to so many others who want the truth. And Gowdy assures that once their report is complete and the public has a chance to review it, it will become clear why he and his team of Republicans and Democrats have remained vigilant in getting to the bottom of what happened on September 11, 2012. They will also find out that there are four Americans at the center of this issue that are of much more importance than the failures of a former head of state:

“Our thorough, fact-centered investigation into Benghazi is not about the former Secretary of State, and our report will not be about her either. This is about the four brave Americans we lost in Libya, and getting their families and all Americans the truth. I’m confident the value and fairness of our investigation will be abundantly clear to everyone when they see the report for themselves.”

On behalf of all concerned Americans, we anxiously wait for the truth.

I, for one, am grateful for Trey Gowdy and his commitment to the truth. By any means necessary.
