House Democrats’ Gun Control Sit-in Resembles Political Tactics Straight Out Of Baghdad

Democrats are throwing a tantrum right now and have “occupied” the House floor, staging a sit-in until Congress acts on gun control. Basically, that means they are sitting around doing nothing. Typical.

This all started on Wednesday morning and threatens to continue tomorrow. All the usual suspects are there: Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA).

“We have been too quiet for too long,” Lewis said, before tweeting: “My colleagues & I have had enough. We are sitting-in on the House Floor until we get a vote to address gun violence.”

PJ Media explains what the hubbub is all about:

The centerpiece of the legislation that Democrats are trying to force down the throats of the American people is to ban Second Amendment rights for anyone placed on the federal “no-fly” list. It’s a quick little anti-Constitution one-two punch that throws out the Fifth Amendment to strip Second Amendment rights, and it is all based on an arbitrary list.

Interestingly enough, Lewis himself was erroneously placed on the same no-fly list he wants to use against Americans. His travels were disrupted dozens of times because he couldn’t get his name off the list, despite being a Congressman for 27 years! How’s that going to work for the rest of us?

Perhaps in Lewis’s zeal he forgot to mention that little detail and the one about another Civil Rights leader:

But I couldn’t help but see a similarity with this “#NoBillNoBreak” sit-in tantrum and something that happened on the other side of the world earlier this year. It made me wonder, are they coordinating political tactics with Baghdad, now?

Back in April, fed up Shia Muslims stormed Iraq’s parliament in Baghdad to protest the politicians who failed to act on a vote to approve a new cabinet. This wasn’t a violent uprising, mind you. They literally staged a sit-in inside parliament to demand their government act on a measure they were passionate about. How crazy is that?
