Rob Lowe made the best suggestion yet regarding how the NFL should handle players who wish to protest during the national anthem: don’t do it on 9/11.
The actor posted the sensible message on Twitter the day before the 15th anniversary of the Islamic terror attack. He wrote:
Dear @NFL Any player wants to boycott the anthem on 9/11 should be asked to remain in the locker room until kick off. It’s not their moment.

Lowe was quickly chastised by other Twitter users who chimed in to defend Colin Kaepernick’s constitutional right to protest under freedom of speech. One veteran said, “I fought for the right to dissent. Without it, freedom is a fallacy & justice is forfeit.” Another user wrote, “You don’t have to like it but it’s a basic constitutional right, my friend.”
Lowe responded in agreement but clarified he didn’t mean every game, just 9/11:
TOTALLY agree with you. But there is a time and place. It’s 9/11. Give it a rest for a day and respect the fallen. https://t.co/sl8qHY3GPQ

Absolutely! There’s plenty of other days during the season you can have your crybaby fit, Kap. Just not that day.
