The Huffington Post ALMOST feels bad about calling Trump a racist

The extremely leftist outlet Huffington Post has been railing on Donald Trump ever since he began dominating in the race for the White House. On every story that featured the candidate, an editor’s note appeared at the bottom of the page declaring Trump racist and misogynistic. But now that he is the president-elect, the publication has changed its tune, if only slightly.

According to The Blaze, the HuffPo’s Washington bureau chief Ryan Grim has officially removed the following addition to all future stories about Trump:

Editor’s Note: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.

Grim said the reason was “that he’s now president and we’re going to start with a clean slate.”

HuffPo spokesperson Sujata Mitra explained that the note was only meant to be used during the campaign but now that Trump is president, they “will no longer be adding the note to future stories.”

But there’s one, little caveat according to Grim:

“If he governs in a racist, misogynistic way, we reserve the right to add it back on. This would be giving respect to the office of the presidency which Trump and his backers never did.”

Oh, you mean like the kind of “respect” you gave when you ran this headline Tuesday night?

Some things never change. The media sure hasn’t, but the direction of the country has!
