SSF: “Premier Automne”

Wordless, weird, and wonderful.

Abel lives in the winter and Apolline lives in the summer. Isolated in their “natures”, they never met each other. They are not even supposed to meet. So when Abel crosses the border and discovers Apolline, curiosity is overwhelming. Their encounter soon becomes more complicated than they could imagine. Both of them will have to learn compromise to protect the other…

For some reason, it made me think of the Persephone story, though I’m not quite sure why. Maybe it was the name? “First Fall?” (Also, there’s a “Making Of,” so be sure to check that out. The style’s a bit stiff compared to my usual fare, but I think that sort of works in its otherworldly favor. As does the music.)

And the final scene’s just brilliant.
