The class-act of the Weblog Awards

The class-act of the Weblog Awards 2017-03-17T21:50:38+00:00

A few days ago I thanked Lisa over at Liberal Common Sense for helping me get my sidebar button working. At that time I mentioned that her site was a nominee in the Top 35001-5000 category, and I made a point of voting for her, both because she’s a lovely person and because I liked her blog.

She has written, asking me to stop voting for her site and put vote instead for this excellent blog, The Reign of Ellen. Wrote Lisa:

…there is a very awesome blogger who is a young mom that I would love to see win. Right now she’s in second place. I’ve asked my readers to stop voting for me and to vote for her because I really would like to see someone who deserves to win actually win.

Checking out the site, I agree that it is unusual and very well-done – humorous and friendly, but able to make a sharp and salient point.

And so, I will happily cast my future votes for Ellen, and urge you folks to take a look at her site and see what you think. But I wanted to post specifically to applaud Lisa. I’d like to think that if my blog were lagging behind I too would be urging my readers to throw their votes elsewhere – it signals a wonderful generosity of spirit. Lisa is both “Common Sensical” and “Classy.”
