Actually…Jesus likes Wal-Mart!

At least that’s the conclusion that Dave Justus comes to in a well written and cleverly reasoned piece.

I think Jesus would be torn. I think he’d appreciate that folks strapped for cash could get what they need at Wal-Mart, and I agree with Dave that he seems to be a non-union type…but for all that, I think he would be appalled to see the mindless commercialism and the “gotta have THAT” mentality that can run rampant when everything is at “low, low prices.”

But let’s not kid ourselves that the folks shopping at Bergdorf’s and Neiman-Marcus are any less materialistic and mindless. Just because someone can pay more and is willing to pay more for unique or better-quality “stuff” doesn’t confer any sort of nobility upon them.
