The word of the week is "crazy" – UPDATED April 15, 2009

UPDATE: Please note, I had a copy of the projected deficit chart which you can see here included with this piece, but it apparently violated my photohost’s terms of use.

So the Journolist or whoever it is who co-ordinates the narratives for the Mainstream Media, seem to have settled on the word “crazy,” and “insane,” to describe people who are not “moderates,” like them.

If you do not like this chart and think something should be done about it, you are “crazy

From the LA Times: Anti-Obama Taxpayer Tea Parties steeped in insanity

Here is a crazy lady?

That headline is interesting, not only are the Tea Party folk “insane” but they are also “anti-Obama.” Recall, back in the day, if you were any sort of opponent to Clinton policies or if you donated to a candidate other than a Clinton, you were “anti-Clinton” or, as I liked to say, an “anti-Clintite”. Of course for the last 8 years, protesters were just reasonable people with reasonable, moderate and patriotic concerns. They were not “anti-Bush” and they were not “crazy” or “insane.” Those protesters, originating from the left, were smart, and deserving of respect and respectful media coverage. Hell, when the DHS wrote about “leftwing extremism”, they felt no need to even mention them as part of a vague “suspect ’em all” strategy. Imagine that.

But now if you are protesting, you’re just a crazy “anti-Obamite.” And this bit of satire portends other things.

If you’re not “crazy” for protesting, then you are a robot being controlled by Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. The press doesn’t like this idea of a grassroots movement. Those are not supposed to happen except under the strict supervision of A.N.S.W.E.R. and ACORN.

Here is another: until it was changed, the McClatchy papers were running a headline about Those Crazy Palins!

Google the word “crazy” and “tea parties.” Also Google all the craziness!

Powerline also notes the advance of the crazy right-wingers” narrative that received a boost yesterday with the leak of the latest DHS assessment on threats from the far-right. The document may not have been written with the intention of tarring all people of the right with the same brush, but I suspect the leaking of the document was purposeful, and entirely aligned with the “crazy right-wing” narrative.

I guess these protesters are crazy too.

PJM-TV is livestreaming tea party coverage. Also, I don’t understand twitter but somehow you can follow twittering here – even I can figure out how to view the pictures, and there are lots of good pics.

I’m tied up with something else I need to finish so I can watch Dolan’s installation mass, (livestreamed on NET-TV) but here are some links for you on “Tax Day/Tea Party Day” – by the way, we are told President Obama is completely unaware of these tea parties:
