A few weeks ago, I realized that while I enjoyed his blog very much – always – every time I went to visit it, I simply wasn’t linking very much to the adorable (and very smart) Jimmie Bise over at Sundries Shack, and so I made a point of running down a few of his latest posts and directing you over there.
And I am quite sure you are still remembering to go visit Jimmie, right? Of course you are – he has a great blog!
I find that there are not enough hours in the day to read all of the blogs I want to, every day, and still write on my own and STILL manage – gasp – to occasionally get some of my own work done, so I can get paid! :-) Also, I do like to parent Buster as much as he will allow me to, these days, and…after a while, all the sitting is just too much, isn’t it?
John over at Right Wing News reads and links to a staggering number of blogs and news sources each day. I am proud and flattered to be among his daily reads, but I don’t know how he does it.
All that said – I’ve decided that I’m going to – every Monday – feature a blogger whom I like very much and seldom-if-ever-link-to, not because they’re not great, but because I am scatterbrained and forgetful.
This week’s featured blog: Hootsbuddy’s Place.
I originally checked him out because he brought to mind a big Scot in a kilt, saying, “hoots, mon!” Because yes, I am THAT dumb and superficial, sometimes. What can I say, I’m a sucker for a kilt.
Anyway, Hoots is a self-described “Semi-retired child of the sixties…now in his sixties,” and he is very smart – I’m not just saying that because I feel like everyone is smarter than me. He has a broad range of interests, a keen sense of humor, a lively spirituality, he has a tremendous gift for finding the out-of-the-way gem within the overcrowded blogosphere, and he seems like the sort you’d want to raise a Guinness or two, with! Check him out – you will like him. All of his posts are good, so if you go to the first one, just keep scrolling down, afterwards. I liked this, this and this. You’ll have a good time, although this piece is some heavy going.
