Yeehaw! A rootin’ tootin’ round-up

Yeehaw! A rootin’ tootin’ round-up 2015-03-13T20:46:09+00:00

I have so many tabs open on stories or blogs I want to bring to your attention, that I must do a roundup or I will never get done some work that I really, REALLY have to do tonight. Think of an editor…glaring across his desk, his fingers tap-tap-tapping as he glares at me and says…”you got that piece done, yet? You wanna get paid?”

So here goes: Those wacky sea-farin’ womyn are at it again, climbing aboard boats, heading out to international waters and doing the “I’m now a priest in the Catholic Church with whom I disagree about almost everything…” hang. Amy Welborn has some fun commentors pointing out that while these women might be ordained, they’re not Catholic priests, no matter what Reuters calls them. Reuters can’t even call a terrorist a terrorist, but they think they can identify a priest! :-)

Irish Pennants relates yet another Howard Dean howler – he’s blaming Bush and his “right-wing” SCOTUS for the Kelo decision! Ack! Madness! Gateway Pundit has more.

A while back aways, Betsy Newmark wrote her thougths about why Mitt Romney would have a difficult time running for president – she predicted that his faith would become a huge factor. I remember completely agreeing with her thoughts back when she wrote the piece. Now, re-reading her thoughts, I still agree, and she seems prescient. Strangely enough, the press never mentions that Harry Reid is a Mormon. They don’t ask him if he wears The Garment, either. Funny how two men from the same church get treated so differently…then again…John Kerry and John Roberts are both Catholic, and the press treats them very differently, too. I guess it comes down to…ideology? Devoutness? I dunno.

Dirty Harry wonders how America is going to feel, replacing Bush in 2008, and if they even realize what he has done in trying to keep us safe.

Speaking of keeping us safe – it seems Muslims are making inroads in converting Mexico. Just what we need…Mexarabia, right next door, with apparently unclosable borders! Once again, I am thinking Our Lady of Guadalupe has a role in the War on Terror.

Speaking of religion: my least-favorite Cardinal in the world is once again refusing to obey a court order and release documents pertaining to sexual abuse. Ugh. You’d think the press would love this guy – he’s like Souter. JPII thought he was getting one sort of Cardinal, and he got quite another.

Speaking of sex abuse, this might be taking place between consenting adults, but it really seems like bad choices to me. HIV+ people having unprotected sex with other HIV+ people. So, you know…their strains of HIV can mutate into more strains. Sex is not evil. Allowing your devotion to your orgasms to rule your life and judgement and harm others…that’s evil. As we see in both these stories.

Finally – after those two tawdry stories you feel like you need a bath, so I’ll close with a feel-good story. Remember the movie Yours, Mine and Ours? Well…here’s another merging of two big families. A nice read.
