Maybe They Would Be Happy With More Dead Gay Teens

If you’re not in the mood for anger, then you probably shouldn’t read this.

The New York Daily News and other sources are reporting about a speech given to Haredi Jews yesterday by New York Republican gubernatorial nominee, Carl Paladino.

Here’s a sample:

“I don’t want [children] brainwashed into thinking homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option – it isn’t,” Paladino said to applause at a meeting with Hasidic Jewish leaders in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

My blood is boiling so hot right now that if feels like lava.  What the hell he is talking about?  Is he unaware of the rash of gay teen suicides that has been all over the news?  This is truly sick.

Just as disgusting is the misinformation that drips from the lips of Williamsburg’s theocracy:

“The primary issue with Orthodox Jews is that gay marriage poses an existential threat to religious liberty,” said Rabbi Noson Leiter, executive director of Torah Jews for Decency.

Really?  Religious liberty is at stake by granting equal rights to an American minority?  Do they think they’re going to be forced to perform gay marriages?  That can’t possibly be it.  There is no actual meaning in that statement.  It’s just a bunch of words strung together.

No, the real substance here is that Paladino and these wise rabbis are hateful and vile.  They are an example of everything that is wrong with religion today.  They bring death (yes, death) and misery into the world in God’s name and under the guise of morality.

Sometimes I wish I believed in hell.  Then I could hope that they would rot in it.
