Today’s Bible Lesson: Kill More People

Today’s Bible Lesson: Kill More People

When people speak about “biblical values,” they are usually doing so for one of two reasons.  The first is that they’re just plain ignorant about what the bible actually says.  The second is that they actually LIKE the cruddy, anachronistic and often murderous values of the bible.

Here’s a great example of the latter.  On Tuesday night, President Obama awarded the Medal of Honor to Army Sgt. Salvatore Giunta who bravely saved two of his comrades in a fierce battle in Afghanistan.

So naturally Bryan Fischer, director of Issues Analysis for the the American Family Association, something to say about that.  He wrote on his AFA blog:

We have feminized the Medal of Honor.

…When we think of heroism in battle, we used the think of our boys storming the beaches of Normandy….

That kind of heroism has apparently become passe when it comes to awarding the Medal of Honor. We now award it only for preventing casualties, not for inflicting them.

So the question is this: when are we going to start awarding the Medal of Honor once again for soldiers who kill people and break things so our families can sleep safely at night?

Misogyny? Check. Murderous impulse? Check.

You’ve got to give him credit.  He really does believe in biblical values.
