Mother of God, Nuturer of Children…

…May the power of the Most High overshadow my children through Thine unceasing intercession before Thy Son, and on account of this, having come to know Thy maternal compassion towards all who run to God with faith, may they cry to God: Alleluia.

Think of all the things we do for our children as parents. The priorities we place over completing homework, eating vegetables, brushing teeth, and learning to share. We do these things not only out of love but also in preparation for the time when they will leave us and go forth into the world alone. We are teaching them to be competent, intelligent and respectful adults. Try as we might, all our preparations and good intentions will never take root deep in the heart of our children unless we make a habit of praying daily for them.
