you know it’s a good homily…

… when you are still thinking about it several days after the fact. You know the ones; they prick your conscience. Homilies about being called to holiness are the ones that follow me home and make me start reading books like The Imitation of Christ again. They remind me that in the dizzying distractions of work, school, son and personal life there needs to be a foundational core; Christ.

I caught myself complaining again. Complaining about my job, the endless laundry, the school assignments piling up, the personal frustrations… then I realized how blessed I am to have those things to complain about. Silly me.

Excuse me, I feel a bit of introspection coming on.
