… By now I’m sure everyone’s seen the video of the dancing clerics. I just found the whole thing silly and awkward; just another facepalm moment in church news. Dignity… always dignity.
And then I went back to my weekend… because, you know, it’s just a video.
When I come back online this happened.
Now, ripe from all the head spinning, the media has provided a new fresh hell. Pope OK with Gay Clergy, declare headlines. Or something like that. It doesn’t matter. Francis muttered something about not judging gays. Close enough.
And there was much gnashing and wailing of teeth. And lots of head exploding over another facepalm moment in reactionary Catholic news.
I’m sorry. I just can’t do it today. I got nothing. My bat shit crazy meter is on full and my limit on complete and utter ass-buffonery has been reached.
If you still don’t understand what the Church teaches on homosexuality, choosing instead to believe some media spun sound bite taken from a hastily arranged interview, then I certainly can’t begin to explain it to you here.
On the same note, if you are all ready plotting a rebellion, thinking Orthodoxy is looking pretty good right now, or talking schism over a jazz hands video and comments taken out of context I don’t have the time or patience to entertain your paranoia either.
And then there’s the very derogatory and gloating remarks at the expense of the very genuine concern that “trads”, “conservatives” or “right wing” Catholics (whatever the hell you call us) are having. Whether the concerns are founded or not doesn’t negate the fact they are still genuinely made out of love for the faith. You wish you had our passion for the Church.
Everyone look, I can’t go around feeling anxious all the time and neither should you. As much as I dislike this pontiff’s style, I still love the papacy and the Church and no amount of bitching and moaning is going to change my affections or loyalty. And you shouldn’t let it disrupt your peace either.
I mean look at this, just look at it …

Doesn’t that make you feel proud to be a papist? It should.
The rest… that’s just chatter and noise meant to distract.
