For some time, I have been chronicling the political conversations and challenges of our “when an ‘anyone but Hilary’ is married to an “anyone but Donald'” relationship.
We have cast our respective votes, but many others have not.
A few weeks ago, a tape was released that confirmed that Donald is, among other problematic things such as ingrained racism and a long-lasting infatuation with all things Putin, a serial predator. Shortly afterward, I dashed off a piece that asked people to say a strong “NO MORE” to enabling and celebrating this kind of behavior.
I reminded women in particular that they have privacy in the voting booth and should exercise it.
I’m now more aware that a lot of women are going to do exactly that: they will vote their minds, no matter how much their (usually religious, evangelical, power-obsessed) husbands may object.
We must make our voices heard and continue to insist that women will no longer serve as vulnerable prey to the impulses of anyone. We are done with this.
NO MORE.

The tension has brought their marriage to its lowest point, she said. “I really, genuinely think the marriage is the worst it has ever been,” said…

This is a series of the ongoing saga of a newly married couple with radically different political views. Part one is here. Part two is here. Part three is here. Part four is here. Part five is here.
