Justifying Terrorism? Is it Muslims or Western political thinkers who do so?

rism: A Philosophical Enquiry, Dr. Shwenkenbecher examines a key political theory of two of the most influential American political theorist: John Rawls and Michael Waltzer. While the right to life is a general principle in western philosophy , Dr. Anne Schwenkenbecher writes according to the John Rawls and Michael Waltz “in supreme emergencies, a state actor can infringe upon this principle and directly target enemy civilians.” In other words, Dr. Shwenkenbecher examines how mainstream white American political theorists have rationalized state sanctioned terrorism. As a Muslim community, we must say emphatically terrorism is wrong whether it is committed by western nation states and justified using the supreme exemption theory or extremist groups claiming to be Islamic.
