Day 13 of 30 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha Los Angeles and as I entered the yoga studio today I was informed Lululemon Athletic Yoga gear has invited me to share my blog on their social media sites. So thank you for that! Today our teacher Joe reminded us of our body temples and respecting them. Two things popped in my mind, the first was traveling around Montreal and walking into a old 1800’s cathedral and looking up... Read more

On my mat today, I really caught who I am. Joe our teacher mentioned, "Freedom is in choice." I chose freedom tonight. After class, I walked home, and felt strong, and tall, alive, and open. The sky was blue, with clouds, and sun light finding its way through. I cried. I just cried. No reason, just healing, just loving myself again. Nothing to fix, nothing to change, just tears, letting go. Feeling. Feeling the power of my heart. Read more

Day 11 of 30 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha Los Angeles, today I entered practice, changing classes at the last minute, which worked out well.     Something occurred in my practice that I would like to share, when I am truly present on my mat, then anticipation goes away, thinking slows down, and trust shows up.  When we trust our teachers it comes from sincerity. We are sincere in learning, sincere in growing, and that sincerity brings about trust... Read more

Well folks I move into day 10 of 30 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha Los Angeles to say that I gracefully entered my mat would be far from the truth.  At the home front, I awaited my babysitter, then drove to yoga, rather than walk, yes as many of you know I am a single Dad, there are many good Dad’s out there and I hope you are recognized and celebrated, I know I am, Dad’s most times... Read more

Well day 9 of 30 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha Los Angeles found me in a more gentle approach.  We seemed to flow in the first half the practice and then went in to restorative poses the second half.  Again before practice as I closed my eyes on my mat, I sat with allowing the breath to flow uninhibited, meaning can I allow the breath to just flow easily through and out my body with out resistance from... Read more

Day 8 of 30 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha LA with teacher Joe.  Years ago I dated a girl named Amanda who bought me a ticket to see Wayne Dyer speaker. It would be the first time I would see him talk live in person.  Upon entering the lobby, I noticed all the merchandise, books, etc…and after wandering around for a few moments, a lady announced, “Take your seats Dr. Dyer will be speaking soon.”  At the box... Read more

Thank you so much to those of you who are reading about my 30 days straight of hot yoga at Moksha LA. Later today I will be on day 8, but had an idea that occurred to me this morning as I watch the day begin. My day normally begins with my cat poking my face for food, so I don’t need an alarm clock to wake up for my private time with God, which is meditation and listening. I... Read more

Day 7 of my 30 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha Los Angeles and today before class I met the teacher Emily who suggested water, she handed me a bottle and talked to me about the importance of drinking water in the practice and the effects of dehydration.  Thank goodness. Angels appear in all shapes and sizes and at the right times.  What a blessing!  I walked into class laid my mat down and closed my eyes for about... Read more

Approaching day 6 of 30 straight days of hot yoga at Moksha LA, I entered a long class…The teacher was wonderful. She set the intention early on to take it slow, give yourself these 90 minutes and “Savor now”.  We started slow and really focused our attention on the pose, diving into the pose slowly, and detailed. Savoring right now.  At one point she announced, as we held a pose, “If you fall over, who cares.” That made me chuckle. ... Read more

As I walked into day 5 of 30 straight days of hot yoga, I walked into my practice with a busy a plate. I arrived early to collect myself, and in the process talked to some wonderful people who were waiting to take the class as well.  I laid my mat down and laid down and closed my eyes. I followed the flow of my breath and was amazed by the ordinariness of it.  Which led me to honor my... Read more
