The ‘Left Behind’ Trailer Is Finally Here!!!

My friends, I know you have spent ceaseless hours in prayer waiting and hoping for this day to arrive.

Well, it finally has.

Your prayers have been answered.

The trailer for Nicolas Cage’s highly anticipated for completely ironic reasons reboot of Left Behind is here!!

But real talk?

I’m kinda disappointed.

For 2 reasons.

First, it’s a bit short. Look, I know I’m not a studio exec, but I’ve spent more of my life than I’d like to admit just watching movie trailers and one thing I’ve learned is that while short teaser trailers may work, say, a year out to build anticipation, when your movie is due in less than 5 months, you’ve gotta give us more than a minute worth of footage, less when you account for all the cutaways.

Secondly, and more importantly, I’m a bit disappointed in the quality. It’s just a bit too good. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still looking forward an altogether awful movie, but I was hoping for more of a “we clearly made this at home on Windows Movie Maker” kind of look, with maybe a few boom mics dropped into the picture just for that extra special touch.

Alas, all I got was cheesy video camera graphics that don’t look like an actual video camera anywhere.

I mean, it’s a start. So, I’ll reverse final judgment for now.

I mean this is a movie about the rapture staring Nicolas Cage and Chad Michael Murray, so I’m just going to assume that the producers are saving the really cheestastic stuff for the movie.
