Tragedy in Arizona

My heart ached yesterday morning as I found out about this:

An out-of-control blaze overtook an elite group of firefighters trained to battle the nation’s fiercest wildfires, killing 19 members as they tried to protect themselves from the flames under fire-resistant shields.

It was the most firefighters killed battling a wildfire in the U.S. in decades.

My prayers go out to the families affected and to all of those who no longer have a place to call home due to the flames.  I love the state of Arizona, and I grieve with you over this tragic loss.

    Tragic indeed!

I would have thought the president would have called for
flags to be flown at half staff.

      Must conservatives politicize everything?

In my opinion flags should be at half staff and the president is the one to call for this. I would feel this way no matter whom the president is or what party they represent.

Tragic and heartbreaking. Prayers for the family of these heros.

There has to be a better way to fight Wildfires than to put Firefighters in situations like that where they can be trapped with no way out. There should be enough Planes sent in to put out the Fire when it first starts … without putting people on the ground.
