Just When You Think the Disrespect for our National Anthem Couldn’t Get Worse…

In the last few months, we have gotten used to spoiled professional athletes “protesting” by refusing to honor our country and stand during the national anthem.  So dumb and ungrateful!

But at a recent Sacramento Kings NBA preseason game, the protesting took a new ridiculous turn.

Instead of the athletes, it was the national anthem singer herself who took a knee in the middle of her performance.  See for yourself:

Insane!

And not only did she disrespect the very song she was singing, she also did so in the middle of what was supposed to be an evening in support of breast cancer survivors.  The Independent Journal has more:

It was in the final moments of her performance — while singing “land of the free and home of the brave” — that Tysse dropped to one knee and lowered her head toward the ground.

Tysse, a breast cancer survivor, had been invited to perform as part of the King’s “Pink in the Paint” night, an event meant to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Instead, fellow survivor Sonia Susac argues that Tysse’s unscripted protest turned their awareness night into nothing more than a side-note:

“And it was supposed to be about healing, awareness, and promoting the cause, and promoting helping women.

And instead we were talking about something completely different today.”

If she felt this passionately, she should have respectfully declined to sing. But this wasn’t about any trend… this was about this woman wanting to be the center of attention and making the national news.
