When Chris Pratt accepted the “Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi” award during the Teen Choice Awards, he said, “I would not be here with the ease and grace I have in my heart without my Lord and savior Jesus Christ.”

Watch it below:

Sadly, some people are being mean to him, because he and his wife Anna Faris announced via Facebook recently that they’re separating.

He wrote:

Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.

Apparently, people got upset at this, according to FaithWire:

Not everyone was happy to hear him invoke Christ, as some lashed out on social media, acting as though his separation announcement a few days before somehow precluded him from speaking about Jesus. People responded by questioning Pratt’s devotion to his family, saying he was making his wife a sinner by divorcing her (again, they announced a separation, not a divorce) and taking other opportunities to critique him.

I hope Chris and Anna work things out and live happily ever after, but I also hope that people can stop criticizing them. People struggle with life.  I have.  You have.  Those struggles don’t somehow prove that the gospel is wrong.  It proves we need it more than ever.  I love hearing Chris speak out about his faith, even in hard times.

Especially in hard times.

Thanks, Chris, for the reminder.
