This melts my heart!  A twenty-one year old woman in Snellville, Georgia girl named Jessica Evans posted the video to her Twitter account which was captioned ‘for anyone who is having a bad day: here is a video of my little brother’s reaction every time i come home and surprise him’.

And she’s totally right.  The video is a compilation of Snapchats that she has taken when her 15-year-old brother gets of the bus or comes home from school.  Every single time that he sees her, he is overcome with what can only be described as pure joy.

People with Down syndrome have been described as the “happiest people on earth,” and the statistics back that up.

  • 99% of those surveyed are happy with their lives.
  • 97% answered yes to the question, “Do you like who you are?”
  • 99% agreed with the statement, “Do you love your family?”

As John Knight wrote, “Do you know of any group of people, of any economic status, educational level, age, ethnicity, or geographic region that approaches those percentages?”  He later wrote:

The intimacy of Psalm 139:13 — “You knitted me together in my mother’s womb” — is clearly evidenced by those God makes with Down syndrome. God added that extra copy of chromosome 21 more than a trillion times in a baby with Down syndrome. It is a lot of knitting.

In other words, “people with Down syndrome report much greater happiness in their lives than any other demographic sample in any part of the world.”  Nothing shows that more beautifully than Jessica’s videos.  Watch this and smile!!!
