Here’s a very sad update to this story, according to ABC News:

The baby of a Michigan mother who sacrificed her own life in order to give birth to her sixth child passed away on Wednesday.

Carrie DeKlyen decided to forego clinical trials and chemotherapy to treat her brain cancer since it would have meant ending her pregnancy.

Doctors removed Carrie’s feeding and breathing tubes one day after her daughter, Life Lynn, was born.

The dad wrote on social media:

It is with great sadness and a absolutely broken heart that I tell you Life Lynn passed away last night. Carrie is now rocking her baby girl. I have no explanation of why this happened, but I do know Jesus loves us and someday we will know why. The grief we feel is almost unbearable, please be praying for our family.

Psalms 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever

This is an amazing, heartbreaking story.  Yahoo News reports:

Carrie DeKlyen, the Michigan mother of six who sacrificed cancer treatment that would have saved her life but ended her pregnancy, died Saturday — three days after delivering her newborn baby. She was 37.

Her husband Nick DeKlyn told the Associated Press that Carrie was surrounded by family at the time of her death. Nick said one of the last things he said to his wife was “I’ll see you in Heaven.”

Carrie was diagnosed with glioblastoma in April, an aggressive, rapidly growing malignant tumor that can affect the brain and spinal cord.

It was after Carrie enrolled in a clinical trial at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor when doctors informed her she would need to “terminate her pregnancy” in order to receive cancer treatment, Carrie’s sister-in-law, Sonya Nelson, told PEOPLE Friday. “She didn’t want to do that,” Nelson said.

That is the definition of a mother’s love.

Last week, she gave birth to a premature baby they named Life Lynn DeKlyen.  She was just 24 weeks and 5 days, but seems to be doing well. “We gave up all of Carrie’s treatment to give Life a chance to survive,” her husband said. “Her birth meant that this wasn’t all for nothing, my wife will pass on and my baby will live. She wanted this, but it’s tough. I’m trying to be happy for the baby but the love of my life is hours away from dying, it hurts so bad.”

I was reading this article as I was waiting for a plane to take off, trying not to cry!  This woman gave up her LIFE to let this baby girl live… and then we have left wing whack jobs “shouting their abortions” and giving the inside scoop on where their best abortion was.

I hope Martha Plimpton, an actress who recently bragged about all of her abortions, sees this story and realizes what she’s done.
