CBF Podcast: A Conversation with Christian Piatt

CBF Podcast: A Conversation with Christian Piatt August 28, 2018

By Andy Hale

In this day of click-bait news, soundbites and tweets, it is difficult to resist the urge to chase after the easy story. Moreover, it is remarkably easy to just give people what they want to read and hear.

“Instead, we try to imagine the people listening to us, what they are encountering in their week, and how they would respond as a person of faith,” said Christian Piatt.

Christian Piatt launched the Culture Cast podcast in 2015 under the conglomerate theology series Homebrewed Christianity. The Culture Cast took a turn this year as Christian began co-hosting the podcast with his wife and ordained minister, Amy.

In addition to the podcast series, Christian is becoming a household name to the alternative mainstream American Evangelicalism with his writing.

We sat down with Piatt to discuss his upcoming 2019 lectionary series, “Surviving the Bible: A Devotional for the Church Year 2018,” and his tendency to use Nickelback song illustrations in his writing.
