The Dogmat saw Cosplayers, Millennials, and Tyrian, O My! May 21, 2015

Dogmat The Dogmat saw strange and amazing things this week, from Daleks in dresses to Tyrian Lannister à la Walt Disney. To wit:

Good news for cosplayers: McCalls and Simplicity now have sewing patterns for you: So now you can make your Dalek and Tardis dresses using patterns from the bigs instead of the smalls. Of course, real Dr. Who cosplayers make their costumes using only a sonic screwdriver and a spool of thread.

Microsoft to Teachers: Using Pens and Paper Not Fair to Students:
The Dogmat does most of his writing using a keyboard, it’s true, but you’ll only take away his whiteboard markers and mechanical pencils when you pry them from his cold, dead paws.

Getting Men Back To Church: It’s About Discipleship, not Dickscipleship:
The Dogmat is usually more careful about his language, but when LarryD is right, he’s very right: you don’t attract people to Church by being rude, dismissive, and joyless.

Releasing the Control I Want; Accepting the Humility I Need: The Dogmat really must write a post about the fruits of obedience and submission to the will of God, but until then (and probably afterwards, too) Tod Worner’s post will fill the gap.

I was just about to fraternally correct a brother in the Lord into next week: Tom Kreitzburg reconsiders, and reflects on different meanings and uses of irony and sarcasm.

What 11 ‘Game of Thrones’ Characters Would Look Like If They Woke Up In A Disney Movie: Tyrion Lannister is especially fetching, as are Arya Stark and Sandor Clegane.

Dear Church: An open letter from one of those millennials you can’t figure out: What does the Dogmat want? Liturgy! When does he want it? Now! Seems others feel the same way.

And, finally, the quote of the week:

They exchanged the complacent glances of persons who recognize each other’s quotations.
