One of these days, I will get around to posting some thoughts on the Blu-Ray edition of Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods and Kings. In the meantime, here are a couple of Moses-themed graphics, courtesy of the Tumblr site Moviebarcode.
Two months ago, they posted this “barcode” of Exodus: Gods and Kings:
And today, they posted this “barcode” of The Prince of Egypt:
Each of these images was created by taking every frame from the movie, lining all the frames up side-to-side, and then smooshing them into a barcode-shaped rectangle.
Note how the 1998 animated film has a much, much more vibrant colour palette than the 2014 live-action film. Blame it, in part, on the rise of digital colour grading.
Incidentally, this isn’t Moviebarcode’s first foray into the Bible-film genre. Last year it posted “barcodes” based on Aronofsky’s Noah and the creation sequence therein.
