September 11th – A Short Word to All Followers of Jesus

September 11th – A Short Word to All Followers of Jesus September 11, 2014

9/11 is a date that represents pure agony for many Americans who have lost loved ones.

It’s also a date that marks a day of infamy for the United States as a nation.

It’s also a date where some of the worst enemies of the U.S. celebrate and commemorate.

But this New Testament text below has been quickened to me recently regarding the events surrounding 9/11 — both past, present, and future. And I wanted to share it with you, so as to put us all “in remembrance,” as the apostles exhorted.

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone–for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men–the testimony given in its proper time.

Paul of Tarsus in 1 Timothy 2:1-6
