Christian schools in Alberta MUST accept students’ “gender identity” when it comes to restrooms and locker rooms

The government in Alberta, Canada has distributed new guidelines to all schools – public and private – outlining how a school should treat children who identify as transgender.  Citing the “safety” of children, the document explains that schools need to take these steps because, “Self-identification is the sole measure of an individual’s sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.”

LifeSite News explains:

The guidelines set forth 12 “best practices” principles that seem to be ordered towards blurring and even erasing the biological differences between males and females. Some of these include that dress codes must respect the individuals preferred “gender identity and gender expression,” that gender-segregated activities must be “reduce[d]…to the greatest extent possible,” and that transgender individuals must have access to the team, washroom, and change room of their choosing.

The guidelines state that schools are expected to provide “safe access to washroom and change-room facilities” to gender-nonconforming students. In other words, young female students would be expected to share not only the washroom but also changing rooms with an older boy who identifies himself as a ‘girl,’ and vice versa.

You know what I really love about liberals? They love to pretend that conservative Christians are against science.

That’s so rich.

Science tells us that people are born male and female with some pretty obvious differences.  Science tells us that people are mentally ill and in need of compassionate treatment if they want to self-mutilate themselves… unless, of course, they want to mutilate their own sexual organs.  Then they’re a courageous hero?

This is tragic. And it’s just plain unscientific.

The saddest part about this news out of Canada is that it tracks with news out of the United States, where some school systems have exposed our children to ill individuals tragically in need of counseling by allowing them to change clothes, shower, and use the restroom with people of the opposite sex.

Don’t worry conservatives – science AND common sense is on our side here. Be truly brave and stand up to the political bullies trying to normalize the abuse of our children.
