Exodus 10: Be Humble

Exodus 10: Be Humble March 23, 2012

3 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, “This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: ‘How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me.'” -Exodus 10:3-4

The success to true leadership is humility. Pharaoh forgot this and lost his power as a result. He had not only enslaved God’s people, he refused the command of God himself. Moses spoke on God’s behalf, saying, “How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me?”

We could each ask ourselves the same question today. Are we truly seeking to live in humility, honoring God through our everyday lives and actions? Would an outside observer quickly discover the Lord is our top priority? Would people be surprised to discover we are a Christian because of our actions?

The answer to all of these questions is humility. It is an elusive goal, but a goal we are called to pursue in following God. He is God, we are not. Let’s live accordingly today.
