  • This is wonderful, during my whole life I never was in the United States. Is it possible to swim in the water?

In Germany it has become temporarily a bit warmer (26°C) so that people go swimming before fall will take the whole land under its grip.

For those of you traveling to France and Germany, the Alps are undoubtedly the most majestic mountains, but the regions Lorraine, Luxembourg and Alsace are also very beautiful, with many small lakes, hills and small mountains as well as beautiful rivers. Historically the towns have a double culture and are French-speaking as well as German-speaking tough this last aspect is getting lost, alas.

I hope that my small description has raised the interest of some people as for flying to continental Europe for one’s vacation :=)

I’m fearful to fly to the states because weapons are allowed for everyone there.

    Lovely greetings from Europe.

Dear Lothar–the Alps are definitely beautiful–but please do come to the US and see the Rockies, the Sierras, and the Cascades–they are every bit as beautiful. Yes we swim in the mountain lakes. Just because guns are legal does not mean that everyone has one–most people do not. I’m 62 years old and have traveled in every state–you can be very safe here. The news reports do not tell you at all what America is really like. All the Germans that I know who visit find that they love it here.
