I have been teaching the Sermon on the Mount my entire career, so the arrival of this today — along with Lynn’s Philippians — is a special moment for me. Thankful.
Congratulations Dr. McKnight! I’m sure I speak for many when I say we are all thankful for you and your work on this, one of the most important teachings of the Bible, for the benefit of both current and future generations. You have logged many hard hours in study and prayer, and this is a huge milestone. I am a student now, but know that I look to you, among a few others, as an example of the kind of teacher and servant I want to be. I can’t fully appreciate all the work that went into a project like this for you, but I can say that I am so grateful for it. Again, well done!
Congratulations Scot! You definitely have a glorious scribbler’s itch!
Scot, congratulations on this! It has been a long time coming. Makes me want to start teaching through the Sermon again. I preordered this months ago and am looking forward to its arrival.
Dibs on the one on the right.
But they’re used?
(Hope copies are shipped soon to the rest of us. Waiting on amazon.)
That’s the cover’s appearance… I got only one copy so I suppose we are a week or so away from availability.
Well amazon gives a release date of Oct. 29 – but we can hope for sooner.
I am so looking forward to reading it, Scot! I am going over the Sermon on the Mount right now. Loved your message at Kairos in Nashville, by the way, and shared it. (link)
I read the preview for your commentary this week, Scot. Waiting its arrival. Trying to be patient. I’ll be using it this winter during Epiphany when the lectionary turns to the Sermon & in the future whenever I teach or preach from Mt. 5-7. Thanks for all the hard work. I also like what you wrote recently about what’s missing from the Church: the Bible! Thanks for that, too.
Can’t wait to read it, Scot! Am in the Sermon on the Mount right now. I much appreciated your recent message at Kairos, by the way. (link)
Congratulations, Scot! I look forward to reading it (just finishing the Jesus Creed now).
Awesome! Congratulations, I can’t wait to read it!
I read some tidbits from the samples at Zondervan. Looking forward to getting both.
The sermon on the mount is, IMO, one of the most neglected and abused passages in the NT, at least in evangelical circles. I’m looking forward to reading your commentary, Scot.
