A day in the country

I took a ride out to the country yesterday. I’ve been working hard finishing up a manuscript. (YAY!!!)

The thing about writing is that it’s such a solitary activity — kind of like farming.

The other thing about writing is that you have to sit still to do it. When I’ve finished a book, I need

to let the wind blow through my hair. I need to smell the sun. I need to move.

So when Simply Darlene (aka A Simple Country Girl)  invited me out for lunch, I accepted her gracious invite.

I found the right road but figured I had the wrong house.

The Simple Country Girl lives by her title.

There are good books, good food, and lazy dogs.

And the sweetness that comes from swapping stories, which is a totally different way to spend a day than writing them. There’s nothing like a day in the country to clear a girl’s head.

  • Aw, man! Wish I could have been there! What a beautiful day.

You were there… in spirit…. you were. But yes, it would have been great fun to really have you there for the day.

      • Miss Kathy, you were there in spirit and spunk!

And oh my land, it’s weird seeing images of my place and my mug on someone else’s site. I have to admit miss Karen, I was a little nervous hearing that iphone click-swish noise throughout the house. Now I see that you were taking covert images 😉

Thank you for your company, compassion, kindness, and friendship! I hope we do it again soon. And hey, I’m going take a jaunt up the road and find that dome house.

    This makes me happy….

    Blessings to you both…
