Be near them, Lord Jesus, in the midst of this great horror. Gently touch their wounds and gather together the pieces of their shattered hearts, for they will need every fractured piece of it in the days, weeks and years to come.
Surround them with community, from near and from afar. And in those moments when the grief burns enough to burst a person’s belly, would you reach out and pull them to your own bosom? Cradle them and whisper words of comfort to them.
The Evil One will tell them that they are all alone in this.
They’ll need you to reassure them that they are not alone.
A world of praying people stands with them in this.
