Dolly Parton Reads Michael Morris: Book Giveaway

Lucky winners of last week’s giveaway should be receiving their books in the mail any day now, and you know what that means? Yes, that’s right. You have a better chance of winning the next book, since previous winners are otherwise occupied.

And I couldn’t be more excited to tell you about this next book.

A novel by one of my very own personal favorites — Michael Morris. A Man in the Blue Moon has been named one of the best books of 2012 by Publishers Weekly.

As mentioned in an interview on National Public Radio’s Talk of the Nation this week, Dolly Parton was an inspiration to Michael Morris. You can hear Dolly rave about Michael Morris by clicking here.  Parton tells Morris that he is one of her favorite writers. She calls his writing spectacular!

Parton and I both adore Michael Morris. You are sure to be a fan, too, if you are lucky enough to win Morris’s latest novel.

You can read a Q&A I did with Morris about Man in the Blue Moon by clicking here.

Or check out The Real Man in the Blue Moon over at She Reads by clicking here.

Entering the drawing is easy, just leave a comment letting me know you want your name entered, then stay tuned for the video revealing the lucky winner.

I don’t have a copy to give away but Dolly Parton has a new book out herself — Dream More. If she sends me a copy, I’ll be sure to include it in the season’s giveaways!

Well, I have not read any of this fellow’s work, but I would surely be interested after that sterling recommendation. Please throw my name into the hat (and then pull it out as the winner!).
    Thank you.

I haven’t read a good novel in over a year. I trust your judgment, and look forward to checking this one out.

I’ve wanted to get my hands on a copy of this for a while now! That’s great about Dolly! Getting support from her is golden in the South! I would love to meet Michael. We’ve written back and forth a bit, but I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting him. I love his writing on his blog and I’ve read a sample from the book. I hope I’ve written enough here to qualify for the drawing :) I didn’t win the Powerball so my lottery drawing luck is pretty low right now.

Thanks for doing these book giveaways! It’s been awhile since I’ve read something for pleasure…normally I’m intentionally reading to learn. Thanks for entering my name in the drawing!

I love Dolly (so it must be good) and even if I don’t win (enter me, please), I will probably download it on my e-reader.

This sounds good – am headed to Georgia for Christmas and a good southern novel would be the perfect thing to take. Please enter me.

Heard Dolly’s interview today with Jian Gomeshi (“Q” from CBC Radio). Memorable quote: “If I don’t like where you got it, I’ll sure tell you where to put it.” Authentic Dolly!

Yep, you can take the girl out of the South …
