In what must certainly be a grave lapse in professional judgment, the publicist who serves the National Abortion Federation has added me to her email distribution list.

It’s like being given the keys to a Ferrari (if you know to what I refer):  I sit at my desk, minding my own business, and behind-the-scenes information and misinformation from the enemy pops up in my inbox. I’m sure that the pastiche of callous disregard and jumbled thinking that the organization vomits will eventually contain a real scoop–so I take time to read it before hitting “Delete.”
.
Today I’m reading the NAF’s perspective on a discovery hearing which was held last Friday, August 21. In that hearing, legal counsel for the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) and Biomax notified the court that all defendants would be pleading the Fifth Amendment in response to pending discovery requests, in order to refrain from self-incrimination. As part of the undercover investigation, the individuals, who are known to Planned Parenthood only by their alias identities, masqueraded as Biomax representatives with an interest in contracting to illegally purchase body parts from aborted fetuses.
.
A temporary restraining order (TRO) was imposed by the court July 31, prohibiting the Center for Medical Progress, David Daleiden, and others from releasing any confidential information from NAF meetings. According to the NAF’s release on July 31, the abortion giant is unwilling to defend its own indefensible actions; in fact, they think that CMF’s accurately reporting the words and actions of their employees constitutes an “ongoing campaign of threats and harassment against health care providers.” (The restraining order did not prohibit release of information obtained elsewhere–so the scandal dump continues, with Americans learning more with each new shoe dropping about the abortion industry’s insensate disregard for human life.)
.
The TRO will remain in effect until a preliminary injunction hearing, which was scheduled for August 27, then rescheduled for October 9, and is now tabled while other motions and matters related to discovery are heard.
.
Vicki Saporta, the president of the National Abortion Federation (and recipient of the liberal pressure group ACLU’s award this week in Atlanta), told reporters that the temporary restraining order is “incredibly important to ensuring the safety and security of our members.” (Apparently, she thinks that people who are horrified by the death and dismemberment of innocent tiny humans would think nothing about inflicting mortal injury upon the corrupt, fully-grown humans in her clinics.)
.
Saporta continued:
“Since Daleiden, CMP, and Newman initiated this latest smear campaign against abortion providers, we have seen an alarming increase in anti-abortion hate speech, threats, and criminal activity, including death threats made against providers. We take these threats very seriously and have been working with law enforcement to help ensure that this escalation does not lead to violence.”
.
Again, Ms. Saporta: Get a grip. Not on the leg of a helpless child growing in the womb, but on the reality of the situation.
.
Your people kill; pro-lifers pray. We pray for you, pray for the babies, pray for an end to abortion.
