A scourged soul and a loamy heart

Some days I write a coarse passage plucked from the scarred landscape of a scourged soul.

Some days I write a tender verse lifted from the loamy soil of a hopeful heart.

Some days the words move through me.

Some days the words move in spite of me.

I am grateful for the grace extended as my family,
friends and readers accompany me on this craggy landscape called faith.

    I held my new granddaughter today for the first time so today is definitely a loam soul of a hopeful heart sort of day but I know there will be many days when I will struggle with God’s grace as I wander the scarred landscape of my scourged soul. I too am grateful for the grace extended to me by what the folk singer Valdy calls “A ragged band of angels with worn and dirty wings.”
