The Greatest Movie EVER MADE!!!

…according to Kevin O’Brien. Your mileage may vary. :)

I am extremely impressed that Kevin saw the Three Stooges live when he was a sapling. My close encounters with famous people are limited to once shaking hands with Jimmy Carter, standing next to Tom Skerrit in line once, and being in the same room with Bruce Cockburn (oh! and being in the same room with Antonin Scalia last month, when I also got to talk with John Allen for a minute). Make of these encounters what you will.

Antonin Scalia would be my favorite of those listed.

But your pretty famous too, and you wake up with you everyday!

I haven’t seen the movie, but I venture to respectfully disagree with Mr. O’ Brien’s opinion. Even as a kid, I thought the old Three Stooges shorts had a nasty and mean-spirited edge to them, and watching a two hours of such stuff would be well nigh to torture, IMHO. Just sayin.’

I’ve loved the Stooges since I was a kid and still do. And since Mr. O’Brien brought up the movie, I can say with complete and total honesty that I would rather watch The Three Stooges than Gone With the Wind any day of the week and three times on Saturdays. Although, in the interest of full disclosure, I’d rather watch the grass grow than sit through Gone With the Wind.

And what are we to make of the sexy nun scene and the character of Sister Mengele?

    Je Suis Marxiste- Tendance Groucho.

(I am a Marxist, of the Groucho Variety).

I’ve really become more of a Chetertonian as of late- but that doesn’t mean I don’t get what little liberalism I have from Duck Soup and The Dictator.

I never got the Three Stooges.. I remember being a little girl and recoiling in horror when they did the poking in the eyes thing.. Still makes me shudder.
