Traveling the United Kingdom as an Orthodox pilgrim, you just never know what you might find. There was a time when I wanted to start a mission in Charlotte, North Carolina and name it for St Helen. I was told that it would need to be named for Ss Constantine & Helen. Regardless, it never came to fruition. ESSEX: Monastery of St John the Baptist

I was blessed to spend eight days at the Monastery of St John the Baptist in Essex, which was founded by Fr Sophrony (Sakharov). There are no pictures, below, of the iconography within the various temples on the monastery grounds for several reasons: 1) digital images, outside of context and setting, would not do justice; 2) pictures were discouraged; 3) it just didn't seem right.
