In case you wanted to know, Salvatore Cordileone means “Lion-hearted Saviour”. Just sayin’.

Archbishop Cordileone heads the San Francisco archdiocese which has a large gay community. He threatens to not provide communion to gays. I think he represents the Catholic Church’s antagonism of gays more than any other public figure.

    • Rebecca Hamilton

Bill, I don’t believe that Archbishop Cordileone has said that he will refuse communion to homosexuals. That’s nonsense.

      • Bill S

Sorry. You are right. He only said that they should not receive communion if they are in sexual relationships.

“More recently, Cordileone told the Los Angeles Times that gays and lesbians who are in sexual relationships of any kind should not receive the Eucharist.”

        My bad.

Refusing communion to supporters of same sex marriage is not equal to refusing communion to gays. Not all gays support SSM
