Excellent! It’s to my horror that there are vegetarians who refuse to allow any animal to be slaughtered but think nothing of having abortion legal. I’ve argued with them.

I know. The inconsistencies it takes to be pro abortion and still be somewhat civilized are mind-boggling (literally.) Once when I was being picketed by pro abortion people, I noticed that one of the picketers was a well-known Quaker, for Friend, as he called himself. Go figure.

That’s incredibly hard to wrap the brain around. Aren’t Quakers pacifists, who object to killing even enemy combatants in self defense? How then could such a one lobby for killing children who’ve done nothing wrong at all?? That just makes my brain hurt. Perhaps that fellow is more of a humanist than true Quaker…? That, or their denomination has become corrupted like so many others. :(

Makes no sense to me, either.

This, Manny, is one of my personal pet peeves. I can’t tell you how many people I know who are passionate vegetarians because they don’t like cruelty to animals. And most are also passionate pro-abortionists. You can almost see the mental barricades go up (their faces go blank, their jaws go slack) when you try to point out they hate cruelty to animals but don’t mind it to human children. They won’t allow the connections to go through. I’ve decided it’s an example of our boundless ability to self-deceive.
